CVR number
A CVR number is the 8-digit number a company is assigned when registered in the Danish Central Business Register (CVR). The number is the company's unique identification towards authorities, customers, and suppliers.
The CVR number follows the company for life and is never reused. It must appear on invoices, websites, and letters, and it is the key when looking a company up in public registers: master data, financial statements, ownership, and much more are tied to the CVR number.
CVR number vs. P number
The CVR number identifies the legal entity, while the P number (production unit number) identifies each physical location. One company has one CVR number but can have many P numbers — e.g. a retail chain with one CVR number and a P number per store.
