Advertising protection (reklamebeskyttelse)
Reklamebeskyttelse (advertising protection) is a flag in CVR a company can opt into, prohibiting others from using its registered information for direct marketing — e.g. addressed advertising and cold calls.
Any company can enable advertising protection free of charge at registration or later. The protection does not make the information secret — it remains public in CVR — but it must not be used for marketing approaches.
Implications for sales work
If you use CVR data for outbound sales, protected companies must be respected and filtered out. On companydata.dk, advertising protection is shown with a shield badge on the company page, and lead lists can exclude protected companies.
