Nøgleordene for Butikken er dansk design, bæredygtighed, håndværk, nærhed til producenten og den gode historie. 2) at Butikken skal være omdrejningspunkt for etablering af et iværksætterfællesskab, hvor medlemmerne kan skabe netværk, planlægge workshops og indgå i et kreativt fællesskab/netværk. 3) at sammen med Butikken skabe et hus, der er åben for offentligheden, så de kan komme og se de arbejdende åbne værksteder, samt få en dialog med den udøvende designer og maker af produktet. 4) at understøtte og fremme kreativt iværksætteri i Vejle kommune gennem aktiviteter, events, workshops og inspiration. 5) at involvere og inkludere udsatte eller sårbare samfundsgrupper i driften og udviklingen af Butikken og det hertil knyttede fællesskab.
