Questions and answers about bankruptcies
What happens when a company goes bankrupt?
The bankruptcy court issues a bankruptcy decree and appoints a trustee who takes over the management of the company. The trustee sells the company's assets and distributes the proceeds to creditors in the order set by the Danish Bankruptcy Act. The decree is published in Statstidende, and the company's status in CVR becomes under bankruptcy until the estate is closed.
Where can I find new bankruptcies?
All bankruptcy decrees are published in Statstidende. This page collects them by publication date with the company's name, municipality, industry, court and trustee, and you can filter by municipality and industry.
How many bankruptcies have there been this year?
Statistics Denmark counted 2,949 declared bankruptcies in 2026 up to and including August 2026. The decrees on this page are fetched from Statstidende every day, and the full monthly series is in our bankruptcy statistics.
