Deltagerne skal uddannes til i videst muligt omfang at være selvhjulpne. Det er endvidere fondens mål, at de praktiske aktiviteter skal ses som en del af undervisningen og lægges således tilrette, at det motiverer til deltagelse i de teoretiske dele af programmet. Den teoretiske undervisning skal tilrettelægges under hensynstagen til deltagernes forudsætninger og omfatter både almene, personlige og håndværksmæssige emneområder. Den teoretiske undervisning er af betydeligt omfang, og i størst mulig grad integreres med de praktiske aktiviteter. Uddannelses- og erhvervsvejledning skal indgå som en del af den teoretiske og praktiske undervisning. Ud over den egentlige aktivitet kan, efter bestyrelsens beslutning, gennemføres andre aktiviteter, såfremt disse er forenelige med fondens formål og daglige liv. Fonden kan drive sin virksomhed eller dele heraf gennem datterselskaber. Fonden er almennyttig/velgørende.
