3.1 Fondens formål er at fremme udvikling og anvendelse af lykke som et prioriteringsværktøj i sundhedsvæsnet og i leveringen af sundhedsydelser til individer. For at nå sit overordnede mål, ønsker fonden: - at fremme, indsamle og gennemføre videnskabelige undersøgelser af vigtigheden af lykke for individer, der lider af langvarige helbredsproblemer, herunder gennemførelse af valide og pålidelige undersøgelser, som måler individers subjektive trivsel med henblik på forbedring af de almindeligt anvendte fremgangsmåder til evaluering af sundhed, og - at udarbejde og distribuere, herunder sælge, sådanne videnskabelige rapporter og undersøgelser for at fremme og støtte fondens almennyttige formål. - at udvikle og distribuere, herunder sælge, prioriteringsværktøjer til offentlige og private institutioner og beslutningstagere til brug for vejledning i prioritering af sundhedsplejeressourcer indenfor langvarige helbredsproblemer. 3.2 Fonden arbejder for anerkendelse af lykkes vigtighed for sundhed. Fonden skal øge bevidstheden, fremme anerkendelse og påvirke sundhedsmæssige uligheder, som har en negativ indvirkning på den mentale og sociale trivsel. Fonden skal adressere stigmatisering og skabe et fællesskab til støtte for personer med langvarige helbredsproblemer. 3.3 Bestyrelsen kan imidlertid vedtage at konsolidere fonden ved at henlægge rimelige beløb med henblik på konsolidering af fonden. 3.4 Med henblik på opfyldelse af formålet i punkt 3.2 kan fonden tillige foretage kontante og andre uddelinger til almennyttige formål, herunder uddelinger til studier, forskere og organisationer.
