Fondens formål er at støtte aktiviteter og projekter mellem AUH (Aarhus Universitet Herning) og virksomheder i Midt- og Vestjylland og derigennem medvirke til at skabe et øget samspil mellem universitetsafdelingen og områdets virksomheder for på den måde at imødekomme erhvervslivets behov for højtuddannede medarbejdere. Endvidere er det fondens formål at støtte aktiviteter for at tiltrække studerende fra den midtvestlige del af regionen og engagere virksomhederne til at benytte de studerende til opgaveløsninger samt motivere dem til at ansætte dimittender fra AUH med henblik på at styrke virksomhedernes kompetencer, kreativitet og innovation. Fondens formål omfatter herudover at etablere indtægtsskabende aktiviteter ved at engagere lærere og studerende fra AUH med henblik på at løse opgaver, projekter og lignende for regionens virksomheder og institutioner. Formålet kan fremmes på enhver måde, der efter bestyrelsens skøn er hensigtsmæssigt. Støtte kan, foruden ved direkte pengeydelser, ske i form af långivning.
