3.1 Foreningen er en erhvervsdrivende forening, hvis formål er at fremme foreningens medlemmers økonomiske interesser igennem foreningens deltagelse som "Principal Member" i forhold til Visa og sponsor for foreningens medlemmer i Foreningens Jurisdiktion som en eller flere af de typer "Members", som fremgår af Visa Reglerne, og i forbindelse dermed repræsentere og handle på medlemmernes vegne i forhold til Visa-systemet i Foreningens Jurisdiktion, herunder (i) at varetage medlemmernes interesser og fremme udviklingen og udbredelsen af Visa-aktiviteter i Foreningens Jurisdiktion ved at a) definere mål og udarbejde strategier for Visa-aktiviteterne i Foreningens Jurisdiktion, og b) fungere som videncenter om Visa i Foreningens Jurisdiktion, (ii) at sikre medlemmernes overholdelse af Visa Reglerne, (iii) at sikre, at servicedefinitioner og serviceniveau i forhold til medlemmernes drift af Visa-aktiviteterne fastlægges og opretholdes. Foreningen skal følge op og sikre, at medlemmerne lever op til de fastlagte serviceniveauer, (iv) at udarbejde operationelle retningslinjer, herunder krav til særlige sikkerhedsforanstaltninger og retningslinjer i forhold til best practices, samt drive og udvikle samarbejdet i relation til disse operationelle retningslinjer mellem foreningens medlemmer og Visa og i den forbindelse samarbejde aktivt med Visa og andre betalings-kortorganisationer i Foreningens Jurisdiktion og i udlandet inden for sikkerhedsområdet, (v) at varetage medlemmernes interesser i forhold til Visa og medvirke til, at med-lemmerne fra Visa modtager tilfredsstillende service, (vi) at medvirke i hørings- og lobbyaktiviteter og virke som hørings- og lobbyinstans i forhold til myndigheder og Visa i forbindelse med Visa relaterede forhold, og (vii) at varetage foreningens interesser dels i samarbejde med og, efter bestyrelsens beslutning, som permanent medlem af en eller flere relevante nationale og/eller internationale organisationer, der varetager interesser i forbindelse med Visa relaterede forhold, dels igennem eventuel aktiv deltagelse (via udpeget bestyrelsesmedlem) i bestyrelsen for en eller flere af sådanne organisationer.
