Som en del af det faglige grundlag har myndighederne bedt forskere udvikle NUAR-beregneren, der estimerer, hvor meget kvælstof der udvaskes fra den enkelte mark. Arbejdet er udført som led i Aarhus Universitets forskningsbaserede myndighedsrådgivning.
