Understanding a company page on companydata.dk

Each of Denmark's roughly 500,000 active companies has its own page on companydata.dk. We pull data from the CVR business register, financial statements, the property register, and other public sources into one place — and enrich it with analytics like the Company Data Score, industry benchmarks, and AI-generated insights. This guide walks you through every section so you know exactly what you're looking at.

At the top you'll see the company name, CVR number, and a colour-coded status badge: green for active, grey for dissolved, red for bankruptcy proceedings, and amber for liquidation or reconstruction. If the company has used other names, you can expand the list — the three most recent are shown by default.

If the company has a Company Data Score, it appears as a badge next to the CVR number. Companies rated "excellent" get an extra icon. If the company has claimed its profile, you'll see a green "Claimed" badge — or a blue "Verified" badge for business-tier profiles.

Business data and contact details

Below the header, you'll find the company's core information in a grid. The details are split into three columns:

  • Company info: company type (e.g. ApS, A/S, IVS), address with links to the municipality and postal code pages, date of incorporation, registration number, and a "Find nearby companies" link that searches within a 2 km radius
  • Business details: primary industry with a link to the industry page, any secondary industries, employee count (range or exact figure with FTE), and share capital in DKK
  • Contact: phone, email, and website. Phone and email require login to view. If the company is advertising-protected, a blue shield badge is shown

If the company has a registered purpose in CVR, it appears in a separate section. Pro users can translate the purpose to English with one click.

Nearby companies link
Below the address you'll find a link to search for nearby companies. It opens the search with the company's coordinates and a 2 km radius — useful for finding competitors or potential partners in the area.

AI summary and insights

Near the top of the page, we generate an AI-powered summary that describes the company in short, easy-to-read language. You'll also see insight badges: revenue trend (growing, declining, or stable with percentage change), size (micro, small, medium, large), age (new, established, well-established), and profitability status.

Financial data

The financials section shows the company's key figures in both chart and table form.

  • The chart shows revenue (or gross profit if revenue isn't reported) and profit/loss over time as interactive lines. Basic users see a blurred placeholder with an upgrade prompt
  • The table shows columns for year, revenue/gross profit, profit/loss (with a trend arrow up/down), total assets, equity, and employees
  • Each row has buttons to download the annual report as PDF or open the interactive XHTML view, depending on access level
  • Basic users see only the most recent financial year. Pro users see all available years
Gross profit instead of revenue
Some companies (typically reporting class B) only disclose gross profit, not revenue. In those cases we use gross profit in both the chart and table, so you always have a relevant basis for comparison.

Timeline

The timeline shows key events in the company's history, grouped by year. It tracks the following event types:

  • Company founded
  • Directors joined and left
  • Board members joined and left
  • Ownership changes
  • Auditor changes and departures
  • Status changes (e.g. from active to dissolved)

Pro users see the full history. Basic users see a limited version.

Industry benchmarks

If the company has a primary industry code and at least one financial statement, a benchmark section compares it against the rest of the industry. You can see how the company ranks on four key metrics:

  • Revenue — comparison against the industry's 25th percentile, median, 75th percentile, and average
  • Profit margin — how does the company's margin stack up against its industry?
  • Number of employees — is the company larger or smaller than the industry average?
  • Equity ratio — a measure of the company's financial strength

Ownership and management

The ownership section has two parts: a visual corporate tree and a detailed management list.

The corporate tree shows the company's position within a group structure. The current company sits in the centre, with parent companies (owners) above and subsidiaries (portfolio) below. Each entity is clickable and links to its own company page.

The management list shows current directors and board members with their roles. Directors are sorted with the CEO at the top. Board members are sorted with the chairman first, then vice-chairman, with alternates last. Each name has an icon indicating whether it's an individual, a company, or a foreign entity, and names link to participant or company pages. You can expand historical members via the "Show history" button.

If the company has registered founders, they appear in a separate section with the same icon and link logic.

Properties

If the company owns real estate in Denmark, a properties section appears. Pro users see an interactive table with address, land area, building area, year built, BFE number (clickable link to the property page), and ownership share as a percentage. You can toggle between current and historic properties. The list is paginated at 50 properties per page.

Basic users see only the property count and a prompt to upgrade for the full details.

Production units (P-units)

The company's production units (P-units) are shown as cards with name, P-number, address, industry, and employee count. The main unit is marked with a blue badge. Each unit has a "Show on map" button. The first five active units are shown by default — if there are more, you can expand the full list. Dissolved units appear in a separate collapsible section.

What you can do on the page

Below the header you'll find a row of action buttons:

  • Add to list — save the company to one or more of your lists. You can create new lists directly from the dropdown (requires login)
  • Notifications — choose exactly which changes you want to be notified about: status, ownership, board, directors, financials, announcements, or address changes. A Pro feature
  • Export to Excel — download the company's data as an Excel file. A Pro feature
  • Compare — add the company to a comparison with up to four others
  • Claim your profile — if you own the company, you can claim the profile to customise it with a logo, description, and contact form

Similar companies and map

At the bottom you'll find an interactive map showing the company's location (if coordinates are available) and a section with similar companies in the same industry. It's a quick way to find competitors or potential partners.
