How to switch

1

Find the address

Search your code or your system's settings for cvrapi.dk.

2

Change it

Put api.companydata.dk/cvrapi in its place. Parameters such as search, vat and country stay as they are.

3

Carry on

The first lookup works straight away. If you need more than 50 a day, add an API key as token=.

Everything you already know

  • The parameters search, vat, name, produ, phone, country, format, version, token and callback
  • The fields in the same order and the same formats, e.g. startdate as 01/04 - 1964
  • The error codes, e.g. NOT_FOUND with HTTP 404
  • JSON, XML and JSONP, with open CORS for calls straight from the browser

Four differences to know

  • Danish companies only: country=no returns the error UNSUPPORTED_COUNTRY.
  • owners also lists the Danish companies that own the company.
  • productionunits lists active units first, with the main unit at the top.
  • With JSONP, text fields stay text, including postal codes and phone numbers.

Access and pricing

Everyone gets 50 free lookups a day. A free account adds 1,000 a month on top, and Pro 300,000.

No key

50 a day

Per IP address and without an account, as on cvrapi.dk.

Free account

+ 1,000 a month

On top of the 50 a day, with your API key as token=.

Pro

+ 300,000 a month

On top of the 50 a day. 299 DKK/mo with the full API. No lock-in.

The full API one step away

With Pro, the same key opens the rest of the companydata.dk API: figures from annual reports, owners and management, production units, screening across the whole register and webhooks when a company changes.

Questions and answers

Do I need to change anything besides the address?

No. Parameters, fields, formats and error codes follow version 6 of cvrapi.dk, so your code can stay as it is. Read the four differences above if you look up Norwegian companies or use the owners field.

Does my cvrapi.dk token work?

A cvrapi.dk token is only valid at cvrapi.dk. If you send it, we ignore it and the lookup runs without a key at 50 lookups a day. Create a free companydata.dk key and put it in token= to get 1,000 lookups a month on top.

Where does the data come from?

From the Danish company register at the Danish Business Authority, which we fetch every day. Employee counts come from the register's monthly figures, and bankruptcy status from the register and from bankruptcy decrees in the Danish Official Gazette (Statstidende).

What do creditbankrupt, creditstatus and creditstartdate mean?

They show whether the company is in bankruptcy. creditbankrupt is then true, creditstatus is 1 (decree issued) and creditstartdate is the date of the decree. The fields hold no credit rating.

Can I call the API straight from the browser?

Yes. Responses carry open CORS, and callback= gives JSONP, exactly as on cvrapi.dk.

What happens when I hit the limit?

You get HTTP 429 with the error code QUOTA_EXCEEDED and a message on how to get more lookups. The 50 daily lookups start over at midnight UTC.

Is companydata.dk part of cvrapi.dk?

No. companydata.dk is an independent service from Uneven Bits ApS that answers in the same format as cvrapi.dk, so switching is easy.
